I lived in a duplex behind the White Mountain Mall in Rock Springs, Wyoming, between 1989 and 1991, while attending college at Western Wyoming Community College. That first fall is heard some strange knockings I couln't figure out why people were going around knocking on the other homes so loudly in the middle of the night. That second fall, somewhere between Sept. and Nov. , they really got bizzare. The knockings were happining all around my house, at the two doors, and on all of the windows. I got up and ran around the house looking for what ever it was trying to get in. I realized it was moving too fast to be human. At that point my daughter who was 16 or 17 at the time, woke up too. Before that time I thought one of her friends was playing tricks. She got out of bed and followed me around the house to see what was going on. We both became concerned. We really got scared when the damb thing whatever it was, went under the place and started knocking from ! ! underneath the floor. All there was under there was a small muddy crawl space, and the only access through my bedroom closet! This continued for several nights. We were so petrified we slept in the same room with the TV blasting all night just so we would not have to hear it, although it was impossible to ignore.
At this same time my friend who was living a mile or so away was having simular experiences, something would knock all the way around her house and on the roof. I might have put this out of my mind except for the fact the year I moved out in the spring of 1991, that fall there was an article in the Dailey Rocket-Miner that who ever was living there at that time had tried to burn the place down. They said The devil told them to do it.
My friend has still heard knockings every fall around the same time. Thank God they left me alone when I moved.
