This happened to my wife and I few years back while renting a home in rural Philadelphia. We rented an older modular home that was very nice. It was warm and cozy for the most part until about 3 months after being there. That is when it started getting wierd. First my wife and I were watching tv one evening in the living room with a fire going.
I was on the couch and my wife sitting on the floor next to my legs when she asked what was wrong with out dog Romeo, a small loving cocker spaniel. I asked why, she said that he was acting wierd, when I asked her how she said didn't you just see him? She had seen him jump off the couch and crossed the room and was staring down the hall. I asked her what she was talking about, my dog was sleeping on the couch and had never moved. Second, I had alway had an wierd feeling any time I entered the second bedroom which we used for storage. Whenever I went in there the closet door was always open.
I had even placed some boxes in front of the door just to make sure, but next time I entered sure enough the door would be open. I had mentioned this to guys from work. Three of us had decided to do some investigating and planned to spend the night in the room with some cameras and video equipment. Two nights before our planned sleepover I awoke with my wife screaming and jumping over me onto the floor on my side of the bed. When I finally got her calmed down she said she had woke up and when she opened her eyes to find an older man in overalls staring at her and told her not to let us spend the night in that room, it was his room. Needless to say we stayed out of that room and I only went in there when I absolutely had to and was quick to exit. We moved away and I have never heard if the new tenant had the same problem.
