Hey, I have a haunted house, yay fo meeee! NJo seriously, at least, to the best of my knowledge it is. I think your site is really cool and and I wonder if you would post my story, or at least read it.
My name is Bunny and I live in upstate NY, in a poop brown house which is a little over 80 years old. There have been many weird things that have gone on around my house since my family and I move in several years ago. Most of the things, though I considered the posibility of a haunting, I shrugged off, thinking 'that could never happen to me'. In actuality my father was the first to expirience anything, but considering that he is interested in the occult and paranoid about commies and hackers I wasn't particlarly inclined to blive him. Over the years he claimed to have seen a hazy white figure with a human-like form once behind the hedges of our house and several times in the upstairs hall at night.
The first occurance I can recall now happened about a week after we moved in, I was 10 at the time. I came out of my room arount 9:30 in the morning. My father says that my room, which is in the front right of the house faceing northwest, is the center of the haunting. Anyways I came out of the room and my door faces the door leading up to the attic. As I exit the door to the attic swings open. No big deal, the windows were open.(There was no wind and I have since found out that the door sticks and you virtualy have to rip it off its hinges to get it open.} However, the door opening wasn't all, I glanced down and there is an oval of hazey white light on the right edge of the third step up, I rememmber thinking it was about the same size as a cat. It disapeared almost as soon as i had registered it beening there and I shrugged it off as a trick of the light. I have seen this same thing several times over the years both in the same place and in others, though usualy out of the corner of my eye.
Other things that have happened frequently over the years are my door closing itself, my radio tuning itself (always to a country station.), shadows with no apparent source, and my light turning itself on. One thing that is very wierd that happened happened two years ago when I was 13. No one eles was in the house so it couldnt have been my little brother. I was cleaning my room and arranging things on my dresser. I set a snow globe at the back of my dresser, near my mirror. I turned and walked across to the other side of the room to my closet, opened it. Somthing hit me hard on the back then there was the clatter of somthing hitting the floor. I turned quickly, the snow globe was on the floor at my feet.(Not broken thankfully.) I looked up and thought I saw a tall white figure standing behind me in the mirror. I turned but the was nothing there, and nothing in the mirror when I looked back. This shook me but I didn't dwell on it.
Then about two weeks ago on a Monday, I got up for school. I went to the bathroom, showered, brushed my teeth. I went back to my room and sat on the egde of my bed, it felt really cold and that was weird because I'd jus gotten up about 15 minutes ago. I thought I heard something, like a whisper, I turned to my right and saw it, sitting beside me, looking at me. It was a hazey white figure featureless but distinctly human. It would have been about five feet tall standing. I stared for about 2 seconds, transfixed. The the figure lifted a hand, reached out and touched my ctesy, the in disapeared. Now that REALLY scared me.
The same thing happened the next six days. Then it was gone, but now things are happening more frequently. The lights, the door, I can't get my radio off the country station for more than a few minutes. Also the phone has stated ringing but when I pick it up, no one's there, it's just the dial tone. Now it's easter vacation and I'm at my grandmother's house. I don't know what will happen when I get back. If anyone has advice or comment please e-mail me at fluff_bunny_sama@yahoo.com.
