Saviodsilva

Mary Ellen Smith
Poem

Winter

bitter cold
these loveless days
of winter's dread.
silhouetted
screaming trees
reaching out for
garments dead.
windy chills
rape the earth
with icy breath.
anticipated
falling snow
the white shroud wrap
of winter's death.
