Poem

Pebbles in the Sand

Our lives are like
Pebbles in the sand
But an instant in time
A variety of shapes
A variety of colors
Some flat as the road that flows behind us
Or bumpy as the road
Stretching before us

We are but a sound
In the reality of life
Some joyous
Some crying
Some loving
Some dying

Ah, the pebble that I am
Has been kicked into the sea
Tumbling, Rumbling
From Shore to Shore
Cast about wildly
Till I am no more
