To Love Again

I.

He holds in his hand
the frozen steel, I once called my heart.
It turns to ashes, melting into oblivion, blowing into eternity.
I fall before him
begging, crying
for a love he refuses to give to me.
He pities my softness as I plead at his feet.
He turns his back
and walks away
forever.
The darkness sets in, as it begins to rain.

II.

Then there is one moment in time
where the rain stops and the sun shines,
My mind is clear,
I am free of the pain
I'm over him.
But am I?
Then I meet you,
and there is light at the end of my tunnel
and fear in my heart.
