Poem

Helen

Do you ever have me in mind?
you like a stain, unable of fading
(Your tears are my decline)

Dreams in my hollow head all turn to slime
Me trying to find respite under my apathetic shading
Do you ever have me in mind?

The red of your lips like so many deaths; kind
Your heart is full and is burning
(Your tears are my decline)

We are in Asia on the Steppes of time
The only color for miles is tan and waning
Do you ever have me in mind?

The melodic echo of you voice; unkind
But somewhere in myself it is still ringing
(Your tears are my decline)

I will always think of you
I hope you are joyful in your living
My body and sins shall rest on the pew
(Your tears are my decline)
