When you left, you thought you took every trace or memory of you,
I possess only one piece and this soon you shall take too.
Hopes and dreams shattered in a split moment,
My heart has been left empty and in constant torment.
Yes, for the final time in my life I took a chance,
I held true and took a firm and solid stance.
I knew I loved you before I met you,
It is sad to discover that it was felt by one and not two.
I believed in all that you promised to give,
Heartbroken and alone is how I am now destined to live.
I gave you my trust and loyalty and in you I did confide,
You took everything without a thought or care and,
in the end, you pushed me aside.
I do not wish you the worse or for your heart to be blue,
Instead I wish you the best and can only sympathize for you.
The day shall come when you find the real meaning of love and hold it sincerely,
Your eyes will finally open and all that we had shall be seen clearly.
Remember the first time we made love and how it left you dazed,
This will always and forever remain with you and leave you amazed.
Though our time together has quickly come and went,
In time, you will know what it truly meant.
All that we shared will be engraved in your heart,
You may run and hide but it shall never part.
I now know the real meaning of lonely,
It is a giant void in your heart, days without sunshine,
sleepless nights and hours of crying uncontrollably.
It is said that is how love goes and I have learned,
I was totally fooled and even got burned.
My heart is now closed to all who may come my way,
Never again shall it feel love, hope, pain or dismay.
