Poem

In a Father's Eye

Bright sunlight glistens on a field of green.
Blossoms bursting with perfume and color,
as loving words and music fill the ears.
This picture of color and light serene,
yet the pain and sorrow of loss is stronger.

The aroma of fresh dirt only heightens the sorrow,
Family and friends flood the green with tears,
and hearts are broken, to be be healed tomorrow,
this pain of man more powerful than any other.

A ray of bright sunlight for all to see,
glistening upon a tear in a father's eye.
Holding on, this tear will not fall.
It shimmers with light, for his Son and all.

No more words are needed today,
for nothing can take his pain away.

A single tear said it all...
Father and Sons love will never fall.
