In a Whisper

I Look into your eyes
unsure of what I see
do you feel any love
there from you to me

Has it all died off
will it come back to me?
I pray it will return
I need for it to be

The love I have for you
grew stronger over time
yet nothing is returned
from your heart to mine

If I tell you I love you
no repsonse is what
I fear so I'll softly say I love you
in a whisper...in your ear

it tears my heart
to pieces to hear nothing in reply
so I'll believe you didn't hear
then just quickly dry my eyes

You may think it was the wind
just blowing through the trees
or maybe just the buzzing
of some distant honey bees

Or it may sound to you
like a breese within the room
or a far off cry of a wolf
howling up to the moon

But my darling its just me
dealing with all this pain,
of loving you completely
and you not feeling the same

So if I tell you I love you
no response is what I fear
so I'll softly say I love you
in a whisper..... in your ear
