Poem

If I Were Worthy

If I felt that I were worthy
I'd take you by the hand
I'd ask to hear your story
And, I'd try to understand

If I could offer more than friendship
Then I wouldn't feel so wrong
If I could put the world at your fingertips
I'd write us a love song

But, we've both been hurt before
And we need this time alone
If only I could offer more
Our hearts could share a home

They both could live in one love
And bask in the light of the same sun
I know it's a fairytale I dream of
But my wild imagination likes to run

If I had more than myself to give
I'd take your hand and dance
And together, we could live
If I were worthy of the chance
