Robert William Gruhnn
Poem

Just Passing Through Time

Lord with her on my mind
It has been so many tears ago
By a river of years that flow so slow
A love burns for her eternal
As a flame without a candle
This heart breaks when someone drops her name
Into so many pieces it will never be the same
What happened to vows that filled us with wonder
Betrayed by a best man who put them asunder
Sentenced now to wander through the rest of this life
Never settling down, not knowing how without a wife
