Friends/Lovers

Our friendship has always been strong,
so where did it all go wrong?
I only allowed him inside my heart.

Over time we became very close,
I thought we were the best of friends.
We shared a bond deep within.

So I ask myself, What went wrong?
Why is our friendship now gone?
So I sit and I think and I look into the past,
and I can only come up with one reason why
our friendship didn't last.

We shared one intimate moment together,
and now our friendship is gone forever.
Oh how I wish I could turn back time,
and regain the friendship that was yours and mine.

If I had only known that after one night
I would never hear from you again,
I would never have shared that moment with you,
and we would still be the best of friends.
